July 29, 2021 - Gorgeous, full-bodied Syrah blend, drinking beautifully at six years. Silky, balanced, elegant, with a stylish oak streak. Admirably hides its thermonuclear 15.9% ABV. A subtle Viognier-white wine softness at the end that’s really lovely. A big Paso Robles Rhone blend done extremely well. Well worth a hold, and glad I have another bottle. All estate, 50% Syrah 32% Graciano 10% Grenache 8% Viognier

7/29/21, 7:20 PM - This is only a 10% comment, but what a number of Paso wineries purchased as Monastrel proved to be, in fact, Graciano. Most winemakers consider it serendipitous in that Graciano adds acid and is a promising blending varietal for the area. No way to change the existing labels, but all future labels have corrected the varietal. And, I love L'Aventure. Thanks for the update on this release. You have talked me into opening one. >John

It affected the 2015 and 2016 vintages from a variety of producers, and I still have a handful of mislabeled bottles from both years I’ve been holding onto. A good wine-lore story for sure.
