Community Tasting Note

  • Vinogan(s) Does not like this wine:

August 9, 2021 - Tasted old and tired. No freshness left whatsoever. Pffff, this was bottle 1/6 - I have some horrors to come I'm afraid

Hopefully it was one off bottle and the rest will be fine. I am still drinking Ciacci BdM Pianrosso from 1995, 1997, 2004 and 2006 and they have all been fine.

8/9/21, 9:13 AM - Hi, no, this was a pop and pour. I've purchased the bottles right after release (let's say in May 2015) and they have always been kept in my cellar (in their original casing). I routinely open bottles that have been in my cellar for 6 years or more, so I am confident my cellar is not the issue. So either it's a problem of heat during transport, or an off bottle. In my opinion though, Pianrosso is not as long lived (my experience with the 2004 and 2007 was 13 years tops). Maybe it's also a question of taste? I also have 1 2006. But in 2006, Pianrosso has never wowed me neither...
