  August 9, 2021 - I decided to open something from Italy and landed on the sangiovese because I've been watching videos of WineKings on YouTube. The older British fellow loves sangiovese. I'm rating without a lot of exposure to this grape varietal, so perhaps my filter is off. The nose was much darker and spicier than I expected, perhaps from oak? There was almost a campfire feeling to it. I think I was expecting something brighter. Overall, this wine felt heavy and dense with a linear quality that never really developed into anything more.
