Community Tasting Note

August 24, 2021 - No notes taken. We decanted this for roughly 90 minutes and followed it over two hours. In this short amount of time it never really showed much complexities and especially not much fruit. Some impressions we still got from this bottle: It’s certainly a dark fruited and very structured vintage for Sassicaia and I could well imagine that this could become a much better wine than most Sassicaias this century or longer as it clearly seems to have a lot of power and intensity underneath. Better purity too compared to most vintages. But as said before, right now it’s totally muted. My guess is that this will need at least 20 more years in the cellar.

Decanting: I guess this would have needed hours and hours in a decanter but the fruit is not there at this point, hence, better wait.

8/25/21, 3:07 AM - at least wait another 10-15 years. Sounds like it has closed up and is "sleeping " now
