September 9, 2021 - Sizeable amount of sediment in bottle. Decanted for 90 minutes. Clear now. Medium garnet in color with just a hint of bricking on the rim. Powerful nose. Black currant, pepper, nicoise olives, game, leather, iron, blood and a bit of menthol. Dry, medium-low acid, medium tannins, still showing some grip that got smoother as the night went by. Alcohol in check. The wine got more and more complex as it opened up. It's mostly tertiary now but should hold for a few years more. Long finish. I could taste it the day after. Memorable wine and definitely in much better shape than my last bottle.
