September 21, 2021 - Somewhat of an annual TN: quite disappointed. Not fleshing any, rather "green" still. While I appreciate the integrity of this style, this showing did not resonate with me.

9/25/21, 3:50 AM - Have you tried standing the bottle up well in advance and decanting it really gently to avoid all of the fine sediments? I’ve found it makes all of the difference from what you point out here to a richer and complete wine

9/25/21, 5:07 AM - Not exactly, but certainly will try next goaround...I have 7 bottles left, and an open mind. Thanks for the tip.

12/29/21, 4:57 PM - @CPS: I did tonight. Regrettably, still unimpressed. 6 bottles left. Meh....

Had a 2017 Fleurie Cru Bojo last night, and prefer it by a wide margin. Of course, YMMV....

1/3/22, 6:49 AM - Man too bad. I have had consistent success with that method of preparation on these wines. I am out of the Sonoma coast now since I had the last 3 within a couple weeks of your note to reassure myself. Never noted anything green except maybe the greener side of olive. The Nellesen bottling definitely showed very lean and thin when the sediments hadn’t been settled out. Hopefully your luck turns with the last six (and hopefully you got them at the same bargain pricing as I did)!

2/1/22, 5:37 PM - @CPSchoeff - followed your suggestion tonight. Made it decent. Still, I find it more of an acquired taste or, if you prefer, an intellectual challenge, rather than an enjoyable experience. That weedy core ids not my thing..(and i am NOT a "hedonistic fruit bomb" kindda guy).

2/2/22, 8:27 AM - That’s unfortunate. Definitely more of a contemplative wine than a blockbuster to me and lacks the stuffing of some of my personal favorites. Guess we are all allowed to have our individual opinions on what a good Syrah should be!
