Community Tasting Note

October 20, 2021 - The nose is maple oatmeal, fresh cut flowers and oak. Opened for an hour and the wine is still fresh and young. It swirls on my palate a little to the sweet side and I get deep ripened blackberry, oak, and a light tannins in the finish with a hint of vanilla. I tasted it side by side with a Margaux and it wasn’t a fair thing to do. This is a great wine, very enjoyable with a lot of dark fruit left that still has time and should be decanted and not quaffed down immediately.

My palate is moving away from the sweeter CA wines to the Cali-Bordeaux-Nia wines as they are starting to merge. JPI is a great wine but it seemed a little too sweet in comparison to an old school Bordeaux.
