October 23, 2021 - From a good looking 375, this wine had a red/purple center with red rims. The medium+ intensity nose put forth black currents, minerals, plum, and some high toned notes.
In the mouth, this wine was rich and ripe with notable rounded tannin and firm acidity. It had the raw, primary element of a very young wine mixed with a lot of emerging complexity.
This wine seemed to have a lot going for it other than it would need at least 20 years in the cellar to come around. It will almost certainly gain a couple points with time.
The main issue I had was that after hours 5-6 of air I really started tasting a slight excess of alcohol. This raises concerns about future balance based on this one data point. This is a very good wine with a lot of complexity.
