November 26, 2021 - Double blind tasting
Pale gold color
Medium plus aromas - very complex and dominated by anise/ tarragon notes initially, then honey and unripe stone fruit - perhaps some old oak use
Medium plus body with palate of apple and anise - very creamy/round presumably from at least moderate lees contact and bit of almond on the finish
Medium plus acidity - possibly high but tempered by this roundish palate - medium alcohol and no noted phenolics with nice finish
I had no where to go with this, as Chenin didn't even come into my picture
The acid may have been able to take me there but it really was so well balanced with that creamy mouthfeel...
I had no idea where this was but I really did like it - never really had that intense anise/ herbal note before
Drink now or next 3-5 years - highly recommended700 views
