November 28, 2021 - Decanted 1 1/2 hours before serving. Deep ruby color with some slight bricking on the rim. Took about 10 minutes in the glass to open up, where it offered some wonderiful aromas of cigar, dark berries, old leather, and truffles. Medium-to-medium-plus body, medium-to-medium-plus acid, and some wonderful chalky tannins that lingered through the finish. Complex flavors on the palate with some possible prune juice added to the aromas, great minerality, and a nice long finish. One of the best wines I have had this year.

12/25/21, 1:18 AM - I opened two hours to slow ox, then decanted an hour before drinking. In hindsight, this is not enough (I used a narrow decanter, not one with a wide base - also a mistake). Whilst the nose was captivating, the palate was initially light-medium and on the acidic side of balance, and the finish was long and pleasing. But this wine developed mightily and alas, by the last glass it was showing great depth with layers and layers of favours.

Luckily there are more bottles in the cellar, and judging from this community, more breathing and decanting is in order
