  December 30, 2021 - A pleasant surprise: Our previous bottle had faded; there wasn't much left to appreciate by the time we opened it. This one, by contrast, seemed like a bruiser, an adolescent, still clearly a claret, but a muscular one without much of the finesse or elegance that we usually expect from this chateau. We probably hadn't opened it far enough in advance, given that we were expecting the sad shadow of a once fine wine.
