January 21, 2022 - Wow, this is utterly on point. White pepper, kirsch, cherry and raspberry ganache. Ripe, fluid, silky, no rough edges, no heat, this is really insane, probably the best Clos des Papes I have tasted (although I have had SOME tastes of the 2003 reach similar heights). Mmm, hints of leather and tons of garrigue on the finish, just utterly Provencale, delicious. Very special wine.

I agree that the 2007 Clos des Papes is superb. -

1/22/22, 8:32 AM - I definitely had some 2007 CDP in their youth that were over the top, but the ones I have had since 2015 have all been superb and aging spectacularly.

1/23/22, 6:10 AM - I have not aged Clos des Papes extensively the way I have with Pegau or Beaucastel. It certainly has a long runway ahead, but it also is starting to drink very well and is highly approachable. At age 15 now I would think you would want to crack the case and start to follow it over the next 10-15 years.
Of course drinking windows are incredibly subjective.
