February 15, 2022 - I initially had two surprises upon opening this bottle. First was that the cork fell apart, and eventually landed in the bottle itself. I suppose cheese cloth would have been better for getting out the fine bits of cork, but a clean dishcloth worked well. The cork didn't show any signs of problems prior to trying to remove it - no leakage, mold, etc. It just crumbled.

Second surprise was that it was sweet - I thought I had grabbed a GG!

Once getting past those surprises, the wine is just lovely and is drinking so young! I'm terrible at describing the nose, so won't even try. The palate is rich, sweet, with yellow plum, guava, nectarine, apricot and apple. A juicy and very long finish, nicely balanced. The fruit is the primary focus for this wine, with soft minerals barely there.

I would imagine this wine would last for many more years, putting aside any cork issues. It does not seem like it has a decade of age.
