March 27, 2022 - DdC Blanc seems to absolutely kill it in the 9-11 year range. Similar in profile to the 2011 with perhaps a smidgen more acid. Like the '11 there is an elegant silkiness in its texture. On the nose one finds lime, stone fruit, herbs, nuttiness, wet stone, a big dose of lactones, and waxy cosmetics. Many of these come through on the palate in waves. The opening is a juicy lime/apricot mixture before a marked hazelnut surfaces in the mid. It closes out into a beautiful honeyed rain soaked stone finish. The kiss of oak combined with semillon waxiness really ups the luxurious tactile feel of this one. Exceptional with a simple pasta dish of chicken, peppers, white wine, and parmesan.
