April 13, 2022 - My note from last April for this wine only mentions "needed time to open in the glass and excellent the next day as well", however, I found this bottle to be much more unique.

Last week I had the 2017 and 2019 vintage of this wine. Both were excellent, with the 2019 scoring slightly ahead of the 2017. This 2018 vintage is quite a bit different.

I was initially surprised with the yeasty notes on the nose, similar to champagne, with pear, apple pie, cinnamon and a touch of floral. The toasty element extended into day 2 and also onto the palate. The palate is toasty, chalky, with ginger, cardamon, quince, and a hint of floral. Acidity is well balanced and a long finish. I am curious to know how this wine would age, and also, being fairly new to Chenin Blanc find it interesting how the wine can vary so much even with the same producer.

Looking forward to future tastings. I enjoyed the wine very much, but withholding any score. The only negative was that I thought the heat was a bit out of balance at this stage.
