July 3, 2022 - I found the '99 Les Lavieres to be an enjoyable aged Burgundy that is now ready to drink, with very pretty aromatics (showing some evolution, but still plenty of fruit) but a very light palate that suggests there won't be further upside. It's clearly a wine of elegance and not power.

The nose was nicely perfumed with dark red fruit, smoky roasted meats, earth, and brown spices. On the palate, I found a similar flavor profile, but with a bit less of everything, with the wine being very lightly textured, with medium to high acidity and minimal tannin. It drinks with ease, but without a lot of intrigue.
