August 20, 2022 - It was a privilege to drink this wine.

Heading more towards St Julien rather than a pure Pauillac, this wine was elegant, subtle and quite racy for a wine that is approaching its 29th birthday. Medium body, the colour does not reveal its age as it is bright ruby. The bouquet was what you would expect, but there was a softness that embraced the body. Blackberry, cassis, graphite and a hint of violet spoke quite clearly but softly.

Body was beautifully structured, very fine tannin and followed the path as the bouquet. Finish had notes mazapan and quite minerally.

Drink now and can keep for another 15+ years, it won’t get better, it will just be different if you decide to keep it. At the moment, it needs a 2 hour decant.
