White
2007 St Hallett Poachers Blend Australia, South Australia, Barossa
86 points
Medium bodied on the palate. Great fruit. Apples. Nice. Really clean.
Tried later on and not as excited about it. The riesling component came out, and also a little sweetness.
White
2008 Murphy-Goode Sauvignon Blanc The Fumé USA, California, North Coast
86 points
Bright, but the nose is rather rich. Medium bodied. Kind of like a St. Jean knock off. Fine.
White
2008 Pine Ridge Vineyards Chenin Blanc Viognier USA, California, Central Valley, Clarksburg
85 points
Pretty simple. Low acidity. A little fuller, and the acididty doesn't kick in like years past. ok. 84-86
White
2008 Wither Hills Sauvignon Blanc New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough, Wairau Valley
84 points
Bright. Not as bright as I remember, though. Kind of boring actually. Just nothing really going on.
White
2008 Maison Albert Bichot Saint Véran France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Saint Véran
85 points
Medium bodied. Ok. Kind of boring. Not brightness, no zip, to this wine. 84-86
White
2007 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
90 points
Rich. A little waxy. Melons. Upon opening, the layers of this wine really distinguished this wine, and it was quite tasty.
Red
2008 Murphy-Goode Pinot Noir USA, California, North Coast, Mendocino County
83 points
Sweet, Cal cherry/raz thing going on the nose. Meidum bodied. Ok.
Red
2008 St Hallett GST Grenache/Shiraz/Touriga Australia, South Australia, Barossa
85 points
Sweet red fruits on the nose. Ok, not quite over the top, but no questioning it's Aussie. Ok. 84-86
Red
2008 St Hallett Gamekeeper's Shiraz Cabernet Australia, South Australia, Barossa
84 points
Sweet. A little too much. This is going more for the gob factor. Tastes kind of fake.
Red
2005 Domaine Houchart Côtes de Provence Rouge France, Provence, Côtes de Provence
83 points
I was going to say this wine has seen better days, but it looks like based on the last review that might not be the case. Really thin on the mid palate. Not a lot here.
