Flight 1 (3 notes)

2002 Coniglio Cabernet Franc USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena
86 points
Juicy and dark. Lush, clearly very ripe fruit. Framed by grainy youthful tannin with hints of heat on the finish. Not much Cabernet Franc character.
2001 Coniglio Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District
87 points
Ripe cassis and cabernet notes. A solid core of fruit, but a bit muted for now. A Merlot-like softness in this ripe, lush wine that manages to handle its alcohol well. A good tannic core. Well made but typical to the point of boring.
2002 Coniglio Cabernet Sauvignon Atlas Peak USA, California, Napa Valley, Atlas Peak
86 points
Muted violets and a distinct, odd fruit component. Some charcoal and well applied oak. Shows its heat a bit transparently and lacking weight in the mid-palate. Over time any personality this initially had faded to another cookie-cutter, ripe, boring young cab.
