This was our annual Ladies night and nobody held back on their donations of wine. The theme became: large bottle format. The Casino Club was the setting for this year with a private room for 35 of us. The ladies were in awe as the tables were set up with orchids and the overall ambience of an old club was unique.

Gorgeous fruit, clean color, great nose, grew in the glass. 30 second after taste. Pure.

Served in double magnum. Decanted for a couple of hours. Great inital nose, fruit but faded after 15 to 20 minutes. Drink before now.

Served in double magnum. Cloudy color, great fruit, life is now. Served alone with cheese so it had no competition.

Enticing nose of caramel, marigold, stewed pears and apricots. Follows through on the mouth with honey, copper, apple and apricots and then a stewed pear/dried apricot note on the medium long finish. Great ending to a fantastic evening.


On tap for next year will be '81 Latour and '91 Sonoma Cutrer Founders reserve in double magnum format. Can't wait.
