It needed quite a bit of time to open and blow some oak off before it started to show some complexity and more butterscotch notes. It certainly has a stunning amount of wood. The mouth feel is incredible. This is palate coating stuff, especially for a white wine.

Faint, muted, plastic nose. This is pleasant, not very complex, and not very much acid.

I don't have any detailed notes, but I do recall enjoying this and seeing the signature diesel element.

Hot and a bit funky on the nose. Not much fruit on the palate. Tight finish.

Metallic, funky, cherry on the nose. Mouth-filling, a bit hot with a sweet entry. Powerful finish.

Charcoal and cherry on the nose. Charcoal on the palate. Drying and tight on the finish. No fruit to be found.

Alluring nose, dusty cherry. Nice fruit on the entry, nice balance, very silky, still some nice structure. A bit hot on the finish?!?

Classic Pinot nose, scents of pine. On the palate this is dry, impeccably balanced, with nice acidity. The finish is clean and is gaining power with time in the glass.

Disgusting nose of creamy, thick latex paint. This has a nice mouthfeel, but the flawed nose ruins the experience.

Very dark, extracted. Hot, smoky, bitter and unyielding. Really awful showing, not worth even rating.

Cherry nose. Sweet entry. Simple drink.

Kirsch, sweet nose. Highly madeirized, banana on the palate. Flat and thin. Cooked. Not rated.

CORKED!

Sweet and sour. Spritzey. Nasty! Not rated.

Candied, oaky, spicy. Simple drink.

Spicy, complex nose. Lively palate.

Syrupy, unctuous, orange, chocolate. Pleasant.

This is a dessert wine consisting of 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon. Chocolatey, spirity nose. Simple, nice palate, sweetness. Not much finish.

Forgettable. Cloying.

The first 375ml bottle was corked, so Roy opened a second. Pleasant. Plastic.

Roy trotted this out after being so depressed about all the poor Pinot that emerged from his cellar. (An unlucky night in this regard!) This had a KNOCKOUT nose, boisterous, and peppery. On the palate this showed less fruit than I expected. That said, it develops a nice sweetness in the glass, even, balanced, although perhaps a bit flat. This shows a nice finish, but with time it starts to fall apart in the glass more quickly than I would expect.

One word: Impressive! Roy even sent me home with a 1/3 bottle which I enjoyed over the next 4 weeks. Really delicious stuff. Complex, beautiful!
