Dinner was green beans and grilled tuna steaks with peach/mango salsa. Beautiful evening on the deck.

2007 Laura Volkman Jacob avg. 93.5 for the 4 of us. Garnet color, rich mouthfeel. Excellent fruit. A complete pinot. No one id'ed blind. G & E tie for favorite.
2006 Belle Pente Estate Reserve 93.25 avg. for the 4 of us. Burgundy color, lovely fruit, strong finish.C correctly id'ed blind. G and R tied for favorite.
2006 Stoller SV 91.75 avg. Ruby with a slight brick cast. Perfume and floral nose, nicely balanced. Some pepper, excellent fruit. Balanced. No blind id's. C individual favorite, R&E tie for #1.
2007 Chehalem Reserve 88 avg. Ruby and garnet color. Prune, acidic, a little thin. No blind id's.
2008 Laura Volkman St. James. 88 avg. Garnet. Some yeast & floral notes, a little immature. No blind id's. R tied for favorite.
2006 Domaine Serene Evanstad Reserve. 87 avg. Deepest richest color of the 6. "smells better than it tastes" Great mouthfeel. G correctly id’d blind.

Blind tastings make you humble! We are clearly paying for labels and reputations in many cases. Next time mix up the varietals and open the wines and let them breath for an hour or so (Difficult to do when people coming from a distance). Great evening!
