Introduction
Fantastic event with amazing food pairings from Charlie and Barbara Orlando. Took limited notes because we were having so much fun.
Flight 1 (1 note)
Flight 2 (2 notes)
White
2007 DuMOL Chardonnay Isobel
93 points
Struck by the deep golden appearance. Pear on the nose. Pear and butter (others said butterscotch) on the palate. I thought no oak while others notice a hint of oak on the finish.
White
2004 Camille Giroud Corton-Charlemagne
89 points
I found this to be light and sweet. Enjoyable but nothing special. May have been due to the extreme contrast with the 2007 DuMOL Isobel in the same flight.
Flight 3 (2 notes)
Red
2005 Araujo Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard
95 points
Deep, rich aroma of currants and a hint of spice. Very well balanced with a continuation of the spice on the palate. Long, long finish. My WOTN although it tied with the 2006 Matriarch on a score basis.
