Deep ruby. The nose had wonderful aromas of raspberry, plum, pepper, abd vanilla. The palate was nice and smooth, with tastes of berry, spice, and vanilla. The tannins were solid and the finish long. A very good Shiraz, but a bit pricey.
Red
2001 Tormaresca Negroamaro Masseria Maìme Salento IGT Italy, Puglia, Salento IGT

Dark purple. What an interesting nose! Loads of blueberry, and blackberry, with hints of cat piss, and dirt. In the mouth were tastes of sweet berry, dirt, and oak. The tannins were solid, and the finish long and earthy. I liked this wine a lot more than my description would suggest. The aromas and tastes, though not sounding very tasty, were really good.
