Flight 1 (5 notes)

White - Sparkling
2007 Schramsberg Vineyards Blanc de Blancs USA, California, North Coast
88 points
100% chardonnay. On the nose, nice yeast, chalky minerality, lemon peel. On the palate, lemons, citrus, slight minterality, crisp acidity, medium finish.
White - Sparkling
2006 Schramsberg Vineyards Blanc de Noirs Brut USA, California, North Coast
90 points
90% pinot noir, 10% chardonnay. My 2nd favorite of the Schramsberg flight. On the nose, great yeast, mustiness, chalky minerality. On the palate, peaches, very creamy mouthfeel, really long finish. Beautiful effort.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Schramsberg Vineyards Mirabelle Brut Rose USA, California, North Coast
87 points
53% chardonnay, 47% pinot noir. Good yeast, vibrant strawberries, citrus, lighter than the other sparklers of this flight, medium acidity, short finish. Least favorite of the tasting.
Rosé - Sparkling
2006 Schramsberg Vineyards Brut Rosé USA, California, North Coast
88 points
68% pinot noir, 32% chardonnay. On the nose, yeast, beautiful rose petals, citrus. On the palate, citrus, strawberries, crisp acidity, quite dry, little oak on the finish.
White - Sparkling
2003 Schramsberg Vineyards J. Schram USA, California, North Coast
91 points
85% chardonnay, 15% pinot noir. Beautiful and favorite of the flight. On the nose, yeast, gorgeous honey accents, yellow apricots. On the palate, citrus fruits, honey, creamy mouthfeel, beautifully long finish. Great effort but a bit overpriced at $100.
