Red
2007 Casar de Burbia Bierzo Hombros Spain, Castilla y León, Bierzo
86 points
Very deep red. Some sweet oak on the nose. Intense aroma of blueberry. Chocolate.
Very smooth wine, fruity. Lots of tannins and dryness. Still very young.
Red
2008 Descendientes de José Palacios Bierzo Pétalos Spain, Castilla y León, Bierzo
88 points
Deep red. Earthy aroma, some barn (a là Rhone). Medium body.
Spicy finish, good lenght. Elegant wine. Very good.
Red
2007 Torres Cabernet Sauvignon Penedès Gran Coronas Reserva Spain, Catalunya, Penedès
76 points
Clear, brick colour.
Oak, alcohol and ash on the nose. Quite massive, compact aroma. Some sweetness. Syntetic.
The finish is intense first, then very flat.
Red
2007 Clos de Tafall Priorat Spain, Catalunya, Priorat
82 points
Rusty colour.
Intense aroma, raisin and prune. Sweet spice. Barn.
Big and intense, sweet finish. A bit too vulgar style for my taste.
Red
2007 Celler Castellet Ferral Spain, Catalunya, Priorat
84 points
Clear, dark red.
Dried fruit. Some chemical on the nose.
Rather "cool" style for a Priorat. Earthy character.
Handles the 14,5% quite well.
