On the nose, fresh lemon peel and limestone. On the palate, strawberries, citrus fruits, chalk. A bit unbalanced with very high acidity and not enough backbone to support it. Alcohol was showing on the finish.

Dominated by cloves and sour cherries. Really fresh acidity but a little hollow on the finish. Very light tannins.

Nose of barnyard and funk; palate was barnyard as well with sour cherries in the mix; light tannins, good acidity, not worth the price though.

Little barnyard on the nose; dark cherries on the palate, hint of barnyard; round, light tannins, lower in acidity than the Chanin, good for the price.

rusty nail, metallic on the nose; cherries on the palate; good acidity, nicely balanced.

2nd favorite of the tasting, decanted for 1 hour; nose of cherry dust with a hint of rust; black cherries, concentrated blackcurrant, dusty palate; probably the most elegant wine of the tasting; felt this was "lighter" in style for an HM cab but this needs more time, not showing much now

Dark chocolate, dark berries on the nose; black cherries, anise, dark chocolate on the palate, nice, grippy tannins, good acidity; drinking pretty well now but could wait a few more years

pumpkin pie spice, blackberries on the nose; on the palate, blackberries, blackcurrant, cloves; long finish, very nice

blend of cab, syrah, and merlot; rusty nail nose; dark chocolate, rusty nail, menthol, vanilla palate; creamy mouthfeel, little oak, medium finish. 90+

syrah and cab franc blend, favorite wine of the tasting; nose is just yum according to notes :); on the palate, dark plums, black cherries; very smooth, supple tannins, super long finish, although I will agree that it is a bit hot on the finish.

interesting wine; almost dessert-like on the nose, very concentrated and sweet, plums; dark plums, eucalyptus, syrupy; considering this smelled like a dessert wine and was pretty viscous, it wasn't gloopy and was actually quite elegant, disappointingly short finish. 90+
