This was one of my favorite wines of the vertical. Wonderful nose of cherries, mocha and a meaty/earthy component. Very well balanced and structured on the palate with smooth silky tannins. Long lingering finish.

Not as generous as the '94. Nice nose, cherries, meat. On the palate dark fruit, mineral/earthy component. Smooth tannins, and nice medium plus finish.

Similar to the '95 just lacking charm for me. Mineral, dark fruits on the nose. Smooth tannins.

Just a great nose on this wine. deep dark fruit with a nice perfumed floral note. On the palate this had nice dry cherries. Big chewy tannins. Drinking so young right now.

On the nose I got sweet dark berries, a little green/earthiness on the nose, a slight black tea component.
The palate was smooth and packed with nice berries and plums. Nice dry tannins and a lovely finish.

Again I got a faint tea component with earth/underbrush, dark berries on the nose. In the mouth this wine felt slightly astringent with very dry tannins on the finish.

I really enjoyed this bottle of '97. Great nose of underbrush/earth and dark fruit like plums. Nice earth/mineral and espresso/mocha component to the palate along with plums. Long finish.

Didn't like this as much as the '97 Insignia. Seemed more aged on nose, cherries and a little meatiness. On the palate I got cherries and meaty/earthy note. This was dryer than Insignia on the finish.

One of the better '98 Napa cabs I've had so far. Dark fruit, earth and backed up by some nice spiciness on the nose. Powerful mouth feel, plenty of silky tannins and a nice chocolate/mocha along with dark fruit on the palate. Long finish.

Not as good as the '97 & '98 I had before this. Tight nose, cedar and plums jumped out right away. Big and tannic at this stage. Needs more time to come around on the palate.

I am always a sucker for fine champers. Light citrus/green apple, yeasty with a slight honey aroma. Great length on the palate, yeasty bread dough. Long delicious finish.

Another great champagne. I've a big fan of Veuve's LGD. Nice apple, honey, yeasty, bread dough aromas.
Palate sings with bread dough, yeasty, honeyed goodness. Great length on this wine with a long finish. This is still so young, it will be fun to see where this will be in another five plus years.

Nice bottle of white Bdx. On the nose I got a nice petrol/diesel note as well as plenty of candied tropical fruits and bees wax. Nice waxy lemon spritz on the palate, with a slight burnt petrol note along with a smooth mineral finish.

Not my cup of tea. Nose was kinda stinky almost like someone just rolled a blunt and started smoking it. Nice acidity and finish.

I really like the nose on this wine. Honey, butterscotch and a little popcorn butter action to tie it all together. Creamy palate with notes of butter, apple core and honey.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the two RM's. Great aromas of rubber, petrol with lemon/orange zest. On the palate there was this nice oily, candied tropical fruit flavors going on. Nice finish on this.

Just as good as the '08. Again really nice aromas/flavors of candied tropical fruits with underlying petrol notes. Great balance and finish.

My first experience with SQN's white wines and this was a joy to sip. Waxy, lemony, candied tropical fruit aromas. Palate had waves of candied fruit, petrol, bees wax and nice minerality. Little hot on the backend. Short finish.

Day two
The nose was more pronounced than the night before and the wine was more giving on the palate. Buttery-lemons, nice minerality, tropical fruit galore. long creamy finish. This wine definitely needed air time to open up.

A nice mature Opus that's still going strong. Complex aromas of cassis, leather and tobacco leaf. Palate same as on the nose. Tannins still present. Medium plus finish.

Nice mature nose of cherries, barnyard/earthy. Dry cherries, meaty and earthy flavors on the palate. Medium bodied with a nice finish.

Nose was tight. On the palate I got dry cherries, earth. This wine is very young with tight tannins.

Big dark fruit slightly candied and a cola component on the nose. Nice strawberry/raspberry with big tannins on the palate.

Limited notes on this wine. Nice nose of cherries, raspberries which followed through on the palate.

Darker in color than the pervious Davis bottle. Tight nose on this, I sensed Dark berries and earth. Tight wine with bight burly tannins. Drinking very young.

I couldn't get past the tar, earthy, barnyard notes that dominated this wine.

Dark purple in color. Dark plums, mixed berries and a minty quality which I found rather attractive on the nose. Very smooth on the palate.

This was a nice mature barolo. I got tea leaves, stewed tomato meaty notes along with faint red fruit just barely hanging on. Bright acidity, tannins fully resolved.

Nice dark ruby core, bricking towards rim. Very green on the nose, little anise, sour cherry. Spice, sour cherry with a medium plus finish. Tannins fully resolved.

What a classy wine. Dark garnet in color, slightly bricking toward the rim. Sour cherries for days, forest floor, cedar/tobacco. Great length and depth of flavor with nice structure and tannin to hold everything together.

Lovely mature nose of dark fruit, cedar and hints of leather. Medium bodied, very smooth. This bottle of Cos is at its peak right now and I don't see it getting any better. Drink if you got 'em.

Similar to the '85 on the nose. Dark fruit, cigar box/leather. This had nice length to it. Silky smooth tannins and long finish.

I have to agree with Tom, this wine was a touch too green. But with that said I still found some cherries hidden underneath. Overall a little disappointing.

Massive, Massive sweet dark fruit, forest floor, cigar box. Silky smooth and incredibly approachable now. Great integration of oak. Mouth coating. Super long finish. Just brilliant!!

Nose of big dark ultra ripe fruit with slight chocolate, earth and led pencil. Flavors of mixed berries and cherries. Tight tannins. This needs years to come into its prime drinking window.

Nose of mixed berries, graphite, oak influences of cedar. Dry big tannins, sour cherry, very young and harsh at this point needs time to mellow.

Cherries for days on the nose. Slightly oaky on the palate with a mocha, mixed berry flavors.

Very minty on the nose almost peppermint like. Flavors of minty dark fruit, cedar and a tobacco component.
