Chez Gunnar

Introduction

Wine club "Dionysos"' red burgundy tasting. Moderately priced wines, ranging from commune burgundy (Barthod), through 1er cru from Savigny-Les-Beaunes and Vosne Romanée, to Corton Grand Cru. Surprisingly Barthod's Bourgogne Rouge ranked as best - on the other side, it was from 2005...

Flight 1 (4 notes)

Red
2006 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fournaux France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
87 points
Light, almost transparent ruby color. Clean and pure on the nose, with aromas of rasperries and wild strawberries. Light, quite tight, very pure, low tannin, medium + acid. Medium length. Still young, but enjoyable now. Shared by four, ranging from 86-88 p
Red
2005 Domaine Ghislaine Barthod Bourgogne France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
91 points
Dark, dense ruby, almost purple color. Quite intense on the nose; dark cherries with a hint of almonds. Cool, good fruit. Clean and fruity on the palate - tastes like it smells. Still young, should rest for another 2-3 years.
Red
2004 Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
91 points
Bright, ruby color. Perfumed on the nose, with dark berries and a hint of spice and pepper. Quite complex. Fruity, with spicy and slightly earthy tones. Good balance and pleasant acidity. Drunk by four in wine club, ranging from 88 to 91
Red
2002 Domaine Maurice et Anne-Marie Chapuis Corton France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
89 points
Light, almost transparent, terracotta colour. Light aromas if raspberries - otherwise it doesn't give much. The producer says this should ideally rest for at least three more years, and will keep for 40. If so, this could be closed right now, but I don't know.On the palate it is pure, fresh, fruity, with medium acid. Quite delicate, but I did expect more of a Grand Cru. 87 p from the other members, I might have been too generous.
