Introduction

Always nice to start the weekend off with some bottles of wine with friends and family.

Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2009 Schild Estate Shiraz Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
88 points
This was too young to drink now, I would suggest leaving this bottle alone for another six months before opening. Tight, grapey nose with heat present. Palate wasn't showing too much at the moment. Dark red fruits, tannins and hot finish.
Red
2007 John Duval Wines Shiraz Entity Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
91 points
This was a nice bottle of wine. Nice dark red fruit, chocolate, coffee nose. On the palate I got tons of red berries, chocolate/coffee notes. Nice velvety tannins.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2006 Ch√Ęteau Rieussec France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
92 points
I always love a nice bottle of sauternes after drinking a bunch of reds. Nice botrytis nose, with honey and a creme brulee. Nice citrus notes on the palate along with some honey, caramel and petrol notes as well. Medium plus finish. This wine is still very young and would benefit from more air exposure or years in the cellar.
92+ SS
