Introduction

I am relatively new to burgundy as a whole and this event was a great way to learn more.

What and honor to taste this wine. Bottle was brought out at a burgundy tasting due to cork falling into the bottle and need to be drunk soon. Everyone thought this would be dead, but to my surprise it was still hanging on.

The wine had a solid ruby core turning brown at the edges. Notes of iodine, bandaid, leather and barnyard. On the palate I got leather, brown sugar, tawny port notes with faint notes or red fruit. Dry with no detectable tannins. Medium plus finish.

SS 91pts.
