Introduction

Tasting for the Brussels section of the Swedish wine tasting association Munskänkarna.

Flight 1 (4 notes)

Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Paul Bara Champagne Grand Cru Grand Rosé France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
88 points
Light red colour, nice acidity proving the 15-25% chardonnay in this assemblage. Elegant red berries with a nice acidity backbone. Some chocolate mintyness, gives a young impression. Should develop further and was of course the least flirty in the flight with 3 other 100% PN rosés.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Michel Arnould & Fils Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
92 points
From magnum. Salmon colour, unusualy small bubbles and a very creamy mousse. Perfectly balanced at this point with the red berry aromas, refreshing acidity and mousse. "A point"!
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Gatinois Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
91 points
Unmistakingly Gatinois, salmon colour. Very refined with depth, would suit any dish.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Herbert Beaufort Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
89 points
Light red colour. Rather powerful rosé but with a nice acidity grip and cool red berries (strawberries), nice mousse and a creamy caramel-like fruit.

Flight 2 (6 notes)

Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Agrapart Champagne Grand Cru Les Demoiselles France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
90 points
Disgorged 2010 August.
Light red/salmon colour.
Nice minerality and elegance with a touch of red berries.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Gosset Champagne Grand Rosé Brut France, Champagne
91 points
Salmon colour, great depth and complexity. Red berries and a great Chardonnay backbone. with a certain over-all creaminess. Creamy mousse. Should improve further.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Ruinart Champagne Brut Rosé France, Champagne
93 points
Salmon colour. Stood out in the tasting with its´powerful gun powder minerality. Was voted best wine.
I adore this minerality, also in a rosé. Plenty of everything including acidity so it would also be interesting to taste a more mature bottle.
Rosé - Sparkling
2002 Joseph Perrier Champagne Brut Rosé France, Champagne
92 points
Deep Salmon colour.
Heavy notes of ratafia and Pinot Noir sous-bois on the nose. A real heavy-weight. Long aftertast, good acidity, will probably improve.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Bruno Paillard Champagne Rosé Brut Première Cuvée France, Champagne
92 points
Disgorged August 2010.
Salmon colour, creamy with soft red berries on the nose. Velvety with great complexity. Wild strawberries and a touch of liqourice!
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Bollinger Champagne Brut Rosé France, Champagne
90 points
Light red/salmon.
Least impressive in this flight which I assume was due to too young a bottle. Bollinger should probably sit on them longer before release.
Needs to develop but should be very good with another 3 years in bottle.
