I didn't decant this wine, let open in the glass. The nose was very tight with floral, anise, mocha notes. The palate was silky smooth with little tannins present. Nice long lingering finish. Great bottle of Vieux Certan.

Morning of day two

I had made an ounce left of this wine left in the bottle. Nose has really blossomed overnight. Great aromas of chocolate, dark berries, and almost a minty character. Again great length and depth to this wine. One point higher for me than yesterday. I will seek out more bottles of this.

PNP this bottle. I think it need a little more air time to open up. Nice petrol, diesel nose. On the palate lots of petrol with lemon spritz and minerals.

I checked back in on this wine after a couple hours of air this started to really come around. More tropical fruits came through.

The color was close to honey. Once I popped the cork I smelled lots of rubber, let the wine open for a half an hour and the nose really started to come around. Lots of honey, petrol notes. On the palate I got more honey notes along with orange and apricot. Not as sweet as I thought it was going to be.

SS 91pts.
