Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2009 Tenuta degli Dei Le Redini Toscana IGT Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
87 points
Medium ruby, with medium aromas of red fruits, cherries, red berries and faintest oak. Dry, high acidity, medium(-) tannins, medium(-) body, and medium intense flavours of red cherries, red fruits and leather. Fruit-driven youthful wine, nothing wrong nor too captivating, the acidity is too gripping for my liking. Cellaring may improve the balance.
Red
2007 Tenuta degli Dei Cavalli Toscana IGT Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
89 points
Deep ruby, shows it slow-moving legs well. Medium aromas of black berries, leather, earth. Dry, high acidity, high in dry tannins, medium(+) alcohol, medium (+) body, intense flavours of dark cherries, red fruits, pepper, wood; good 10+ sec length. Pleasant texture well-structured, aims for elegance not power. Balance is fine if the wine is paired with hearty food, else the high acidity and dry tannins may dominate, making the finish unlike fellow Tuscans.
Red
2005 Tenuta degli Dei Cavalli Toscana IGT Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
90 points
Deep ruby, nearly opaque, sticks to the glass, Dry, high in tannins, medium(-) acidity, aromas of cherries, plum, leather. Full body, long finish with chalky tannins clearly contributing. More harmonious and integrated than 2007.
