Flight 1 (0 notes)

All except Ei correctly identified the vintages.Ei inexplicably mixed 06 and 07. The 06 was flabby, somewhat lacking in backbone, though still a decent wine. The 07 was the opposite, lacked fruit and thus the bitter edge that we like in Pinot was too predominant, though R liked. The 08 was great.Good mouthfeel, rounded and smooth. Complex tastes. Very balanced, good fruit and acidity, a standout vintage and everyone's favorite. The 09 was also very good but lacked a bit of depth in comparison to the older sister.

Closing

Enjoyable and interesting that we were (almost) perfect in vintage delineation. Wide variety year to year in wine quality from the same producer and vineyard. I would rate the 08 in the 93 range. The rest between 87 and 90. Gail brought an 08 RR Ridgecrest (2008 Chehalem Pinot Noir Ridgecrest RR (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge) that blew these away and was clearly the WOTN. That I rated a 95. The "disappear first index" was; RR, then 08, then 09, then 07 and 06 which both lasted the night.
