Introduction

First meeting of the new tasting group, all wines must be Gevrey.
The meal was composed of mushroom tagliatelles, Rosted Guinea hen and a cheese flight.

Flight 1 (4 notes)

Red
2007 David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
90 points
Fruit forward, quite modern in style. Should revisit with more age. Nice starter for the night.
Red
2000 Hubert Lignier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
93 points
Silky, WONT for me, open for business, happy, lush. More ripe fruit and perfectly integrated now. Someone said almost Vosne like.
Red
2002 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
91 points
I would say the most structured one. Balanced well between the 98 Trapet and the 00 Lignier. Nice acidity, but overall not as impressive as the Lignier.
Maybe with a bit more complex food, it would have been more complimented.
Red
1998 Domaine Trapet (Jean et Jean-Louis) Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
89 points
The oldest of the different bottles and it was the one that was the harder, still tannic and not open. Quite strange to be honest, since you could feel the quality, but at the opposite side of the 00 Lignier. It went well with the cheese flight though.
