N.V. Bollinger Champagne Special Cuvée Brut France, Champagne
90 points
Medium(-) lemon, persistent effervescence of delicate nature (<1mm). Medium aromas of bread, almond, green apples. Dry, high fruity acidity, medium(-) alcohol and body, medium-medium(+) flavours of green apples, almonds, lemon and honey. Delicate mouth-filling mousse, well balanced fruit-acidity with firm structure. Medium length and cleansing finish, very much the elegant Bolli-style.
White
2010 Pascal Jolivet Pouilly-Fumé Les Terres Blanches France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Pouilly-Fumé
88 points
Medium yellow, no discernible legs. Medium developing nose of gooseberries, some elderflower, yellow plum, and later notes of caramel and even smoke. Dry, medium acidity, medium alcohol and ditto body. Medium(+) flavours of lemon, gooseberries, apples, mineral, toasted oak, smoky. Crisp acidity balancing and rather complex flavour palate, zest with medium finish, yet misses weight. Likeable.
