Flight 1 (6 notes)

Rosé
2011 Vignerons de Caractère Vacqueyras Rosé Seigneur de Fontimple France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vacqueyras
Tasted blind. Pretty, berry, vanilla, floral nose. Watermelon, strawberry palate, with a creamy, lactic edge, and crunchy acidity. Full of flavor, very tasty. My #2, Group #2 WOTN
Rosé
2010 Baxter Rosé Signal Ridge Vineyard USA, California, North Coast, Mendocino Ridge
Tasted blind. Pretty cherry, berry nose. Cherry, strawberry palate, with searing acidity that's balanced by just enough sweetness. Killer rose. My #3, Group #1 WOTN.
Rosé
2010 Witching Stick Zinfandel Rosato Fashauer Vineyard USA, California, North Coast, Mendocino Ridge
Tasted blind. Darker colored, and deeper toned than most of the other wines in the flight. Cherry, floral nose. Dark cherry, hibiscus tea, floral/rose palate. Off dry, with good balance of sweetness and acidity. Very tasty. My NR, Group #3 WOTN.
Rosé
2011 Husch Vineyards Pinot Noir Vin Gris USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley
Tasted blind. Straightforward, with cherry and strawberry fruit of moderate intensity. Bone dry, with a spicy finish.
Red
2009 Roederer Estate Pinot Noir USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley
Tasted blind. Interesting, copper hue. Yeasty, tropical fruit nose. Off dry, tastes just like one of those Del Monte fruit salad cups. A bit odd, but enjoyable.
Rosé
N.V. Frank Cornelissen Susucaru 3 Italy, Sicily, Sicilia
Tasted blind. Tough to describe. Dark, orange hue. Cloudy, with strawberry, floral, herbal tea notes. Dry, finishes on a bitter, yet not offputting, earthy note. Unique and interesting, I fully enjoyed this. My #1, Group NR WOTN
