Introduction

Some nice wines at a recent cabin visit.

Flight 1 (5 notes)

White
2006 Chappellet Chardonnay USA, California, Napa Valley
90 points
Still drinking well with pinneapple, pear, apple and subtle oak. Balanced. Drink now.
White - Sparkling
N.V. Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Extra Dry France, Champagne
90 points
Medium gold. Minerals, pinneapple, spice and nectarines. A touch of sweetness.
White
2008 Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling USA, Washington, Columbia Valley
85 points
Lemon, orange peel, minerals and a touch of sweetness. Always a good value for under $10.
White - Off-dry
2007 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
93 points
Really good with peach, minerals, sweet mango and pinneapple. Medium finish and complex.
Red
2005 Château Pierre de Lune France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
93 points
Wonderful wine with cassis, tobacco, minerals and earth. Complex and needed five plus hours of decanting. This got better on day two. This should drink well for over a decade. 93-95
