Dark ruby. Fairly expressive and fruit-forward with red cherry, raspberry and floral scents. Medium-bodied and round, ready to enjoy with another 3-5 years of life ahead. Fully accomplishes its role as the estate's entry-level wine for immediate consumption.

Extremely youthful, with fresh dark cherry and blackberry fruit, intense oak of excellent quality, licorice, mint and spice. Full-bodied, powerfull but elegant, yet extremely youthful and vigorous with tameless tannins, amazingly fresh fruit and high acidity. Endless aftertaste. Needs several years to settle down but already shows its beauty and character, like a wild thoroughbred.

So glad to come back to this wine 4 years after the last time I enjoyed it! Very dark ruby-garnet color. Intense mint, eucalypt, charcoal, fruit-cake, chocolate and plums on the nose. Full-bodied, dense, with sweet fruit, round tannins, balancing acidity and a very very long aftertaste. Approaching its peak (needs 2-3 more years).

Amazingly good given the reputation of 2002 as a off vintage. Dark garnet color. Intense mint/eucalypt, chocolate, dark berries and olive on the nose. Med+ bodied, balanced, with a long aftertaste. At peak.

Evolved and complex nose with blackberries, earthy minerality, meaty scents, chocolate and moccha. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins, rich fruit, balancing acidity and a very long aftertaste. To drink now or cellar for 5+ years.

WOTY for almost everyone. Ornelleia at its best! Explosive and complex nose of melted licorice, plum, cherry, noble meaty scents and sweet spice. Full-bodied with firm but fine-grained tannins of excellent quality, rich, generous fruit, round, perfectly balanced despite its youth and multy-layered. Very long aftertaste. Majestic.

This is Ornellaia's second vin and a really serious wine. Fresh cherry and berry fruit wrapped with obvious oak of excellent quality. Medium-bodied, still very youthful with firm tannins, balancing acidity and a long aftertaste. Needs time.
