Introduction

Flight 1 - Flight 1 (6 notes)

Red
1992 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
90 points
Brick color.
Classical mature Bordeaux notes, stable, very nice grassy, herbaciousness.
Not very concentrated and fully developed, should be drunk without hesitation. However a very nice wine still.
Red
1995 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
89 points
Rather discreet nose, cellar.
On the palate the fruit is dark, chocolate.
No tannins but high acidity, a bit medicianal.

Classical Bordeaux on the nose, very seducing grassiness, herbacousness.
On the palate very good balance, but still some greeness, will improve! Classical old school Bordeaux!

2004 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
91 points
Still blueish color.
Dark fruit, however probably not as good concentration as the 2000.
Needs another 3-4 years of cellaring.

Red
2005 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
92 points
Very round, smooth and Merlot-y.
Thick, sweet fruit, any present tannins are soft. Will improve.
Modern style Bordeaux.

Red
2006 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
90 points
Needs another 5 years of cellaring.
Slightly reminiscent of the 2005 but with higher acidity, however, there is nothing that grabs my interest...
Red
2007 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
91 points
Very nice grassiness and herbaciousness in the style of 1999 and 2000 but without the same concentration.
Should be perfect in 3 years!
A perfect example of well made luncheon claret from a medium year at an afordable price.
Red
2008 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
90 points
In the vertical tasting this appears as very unintriguing at the moment, however there is nothing that really grabs my interest.
Red
2009 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
92 points
You can sense the warmth, very soft, pleasant and immensely enjoyable composition already. Should however be cellared 5 years before reasseing. Will improve!
