Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2003 Maison Leroy Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
93 points
surprisingly good. rich, round, complex minerals.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red
2007 Domaine Leroy Pommard Les Vignots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard
93 points
biggest surprise of the evening. gorgeously expressive nose. notes of earth, minerals, violets. open-knit and very enjoyable now.

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red
2003 Maison Leroy Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
85 points
convinced it was "cooked" but was assured by Leroy's marketing manager otherwise. stewed prunes and plum dominated the nose. however after a couple of hours, that unpleasant aroma disappeared completely and it was actually drinkable, although not pleasurable.
Red
2003 Domaine Leroy Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
95 points
incredibly rich and ripe. complex mix of black fruits, spice and sweet plum. lovely.

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
1996 Domaine Leroy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
92 points
lots of red fruits, elegant and fully mature. somewhat simplistic. easy to drink.
Red
2000 Domaine Leroy Romanée St. Vivant France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru
91 points
had high expectations but came across as a little simplistic and somewhat lean on the palate. a perfectly decent wine if you don't look at the label and price!

Flight 5 (2 notes)

Red
1982 Maison Leroy Musigny France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
93 points
spicy and mature with cool restraint. slightly dry finish. good but not great.
Red
1953 Maison Leroy La Romanée France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, La Romanée Grand Cru
96 points
still very deep in colour. rich and ripe with notes of earth, smoke and game. chewy textured finish. a memorable experience.
