White
1996 R. López de Heredia Rioja Blanco Reserva Viña Tondonia Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja

Developed dark yellow. Complex, slightly oxidized nose with apricot, marzipan/nuts and some mould. Full-bodied, very dry and intense on the palate. Fresh citrus acidity. Very long.
To me this is a great wine, like an exotic mix of Burgundy and Jura.

White - Sparkling
N.V. Ulysse Collin Champagne Blanc de Blancs Extra-Brut France, Champagne
89 points
Clear, light flaxen. Distinct nose with yeast, yellow apples, some burned notes and "silo". Medium mousse, quite light bodied. Very high acidity. Also some yeast on the palate, very tight.
Typical non-malo(?) style, would gain from further bottle aging.
White
2011 Schloss Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner Reserve Lamm Kamptal Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal
89 points
Light flaxen colour. Very green/herbal on the nose. Also some tropical, like green bananas. Some residual Co2. Full-bodied and fat. At first very green on the palate, but you can feel that there is a lot of debt and potential there. Tight and long finish.
The very green and herbal character made me guess Sauvignon Blanc from outside Loire. The wine is very young and primary now, but has very good aging potential.
White
2008 Ratzenberger Steeger St. Jost Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Mittelrhein
89 points
Light golden. Delicious aroma with honey, apricot, minerals, some petroleum and botrytis(?). The palate is quite different from the nose - tight and intense, some apples, good length.
Very good.
White
2011 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
90 points
Light flaxen. Tight nose, with minerals, herbs, some petroleum, pineapple and wet wool. Full-bodied, medium acidity, good length.

My first Mosel GG. No doubt this was Riesling, but the "huge" style made me believe that this came from a more warm climate.
White
2007 Trimbach Pinot Gris Réserve Personnelle France, Alsace
90 points
Light flaxen. Tropical fruit, cellar, wet wool and some botrytis(?) on the nose. On day day one the palate is very tight and slightly bitter. Medium acidity, some noticeable alcohol.
On day two it opens beautiful up, smoother and more complex.
Rosé
2012 Domaine La Suffrene Bandol Rosé France, Provence, Bandol
86 points
Very light pink. Tight nose with minerals, redcurrant and rhubarb. Also tight and structured on the palate, good length.
Very reliable and good value.
Red
1998 La Rioja Alta Rioja Gran Reserva 904 Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja
90 points
Rust red, developed colour. Rich and developed nose. Sweet, cinnamon and red fruit. Juicy and delicate on the palate. Noticeable oak. Long finish with some liquorice. Fresh, good acidity.
In my opinion the oak is a bit too dominant at this point, further aging is recommended.
