Introduction
Whites, served straight after the swimming pool, towel around the neck, sun rising
Flight 1 - Whites (2 notes)
Criots batard 2010 H Boillots
Blind tasting. Served at 20'C, no decantation. Nose of toast, roasted bread, hay, grape fruit, a classic chardonnay made in a "mid heat oak" ; very serious, and elegant style. Mouth discret and fine, not demonstrative, mostly mineral and elegant , medium lenght with some shy mentol notes at the end palate. Highly drinkable. Afterwoods I think I missed this wine, because of severals tasting conditions. Anyway I keep my blind rate: just excellent :90
Dagueneau silex 2010
Blind tasting. Served right after opening at 12'C. Superb aromatic nose (well placed after the previous Criots) with edderberry, lily of the valley and blackcurrant flowers, very close to a Muscat style. Then comes some exotics flavors like coconut. Mouth according exactly to the nose, delicate and energic, ending very long without any vegetal or bitterness. What a lesson. Outstanding. 94-95. Keep in cellar, and carefull for the food match or the tasting position.
Flight 2 - Reds (4 notes)
corton chateau corton grancey 2005
Blind tasting. Open and served one hour after opening. No decantation. Pale and faded hue, still clear and transparent. Fresh nose grenadine, classic pinot cherries, sweat and ripe impression. No tertiary flavours, a bit of wood glue (oak) at the end. Mouth vivid and concentrated; crunchy, ripe black fruits, fresh whites almonds, end very long after taste on cruched brambles. Diabolical elegance overall. Impressiv aerial style for an to easy hot vintage. A demonstration of a pure burgundy craft, without facility. A pure expression of the burgundy terroir. At the beginninng of his life. Oustanding 93-94
1998 hermitage chave
Blind tasting. Decanted one hour, served at 18'C. Dark hue with brownish borders. Suberb mature nose : leather, black peper, tobacco, little strawberries of the forest. Extraordinary complex mouth, with differents waves, leather, strawberry's flavour yogurt, ink, then comes tertiary notes as old wood chest, black tulip petals... The fruit is always dominating, carrying on with sap and some shy menthol notes, then some smoke come back. The structure (tannins bitterness, acidity) is not noticeable, it components are melted behind. Very long after taste. For a blind palate the syrrah is obvious but what an association of lively fruit, surprising freshness in a noble finish ! An other world, I'm loosing my marks. Extraordinary 96.
2001 Giscours
Blind tasting. Very dark hue. Deep and fine nose of blackfruits, with ash and old chineese peper. Presumption of minerality. Very promising. Mouth closed, clustered on black notes as blackcurrent, showing mostly his structure, and his minerality, but with finesse. Needs decantation . Excellent still 92. Difficult to make the show after the previous monuments.
La cour a mouton 2008
An outsider. Well prepared to face previous bigs. Decanted five hours in fresh conditions. Served at 16'C. Nose jammy, dried prunes, and slighly oxydised apricot, yeast extract, brushed copper surface. The confrontation to the previous oustanding is showing his powerfull flavours, and his nice texture (sandy tannins). But it lack elegance. A hidden monster. Only decantation wake up this beast. Excellent 92. Drink now, and follow the procedure.

What a selection, but no warming up, no advertising, pure blind tasting
