Flight 1 (7 notes)

White
2009 Domaine Nudant Ladoix 1er Cru Les Gréchons Blanc France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Ladoix 1er Cru
Elegant, soft mouthfeel yet good acid, spearmint, earthy mineral, pear, slight oak and some salinity. Nice.
White
2010 Domaine Patrick Javillier Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée des Forgets France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
More earthy and minerally than the Nudant. Crisper and lighter in weight too. Some citrus tones, light apple. Bigger nose than the Nudant. I liked this and group did as well.
White
2010 J.M. Boillot Rully 1er Cru Le Meix Cadot Blanc France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Rully 1er Cru
More subdued nose than the Javillier. Richer fruit, a little more weight and intensity. Tart, lemon, slight cream/malo finish. Good salinity. Liked this a lot and so did Ann.
White
2009 Louis Jadot Corton-Charlemagne Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Complex, rich but elegant, great acid, clearly good material her. Some oak though that reminds me of a Jadot Mersault I had earlier in the year. Is that a hallmark of Jadot whites? Some pear and honey. I'd love to try this in ten years.
Red
2009 Château de Chamirey Mercurey France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Mercurey
Polish aroma, ripe fruit, candied, pine needle, lots of acid.
Red
2011 Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru Santenots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
More structured and savory than the Chamirey, great acid, ripe fruit. More of what I was expecting from the reds. Some spices, and more earthy after it was open for a while. Slight rubber, fine tannins. Enjoyed this.
Red
2010 Domaine des Perdrix Echezeaux France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Blueberry fruit with lots of structure. Big with some pine needle and blue fruit. Note sure how much whole cluster or stems were included but there is a slight green bean note. Clearly high quality material here and lots of fun to drink. We probably opened this ten years too soon but it was tasty and a great learning experience. Thanks to Holly and Tony for sharing.
