Graphite, raspberry, red currant and chalk - a pretty nose. Medium bodied, quite approachable with just a light tannic spine. Nice wine.

Rose, raspberry and ash with some light earth. Quite tannic palate, the structure is good but is certainly needs time to be pleasurable. With time in the glass the fruit does come out a bit more but still, give it time.

Tar and roses, with red licorice and violets - it is quite intense aromatically. The palate is coated with fruit and some tannins come in as backing. Well balanced despite the generosity of flavour. My favourite of the first 6 wines from this class.

Tight and lightly fruited nose - there is some ash and earth. Opened very very slowly in the glass on the palate as well. Very tightly wound up, with the backbone there to give me hope it it to age well.

Some stalky/herbal influence along with cedar and spice. Palate is more expressive with good balance and length. Refined texturally and has interest. Would like to explore this area more.

Heavily bretty, with animale and truffle along with chocolate. The palate is tannic and quite hard with the fruit not keeping up. Not easy to like.

Nicely aromatic - violet and roses with graphite and earth. Well balanced, with grip and driven fruit. Classy and attractive even in its youth.

Violets and iron, with tar and raspberry plus some licorice lurking in the back. Very good texture and the red fruit has good power and intensity without losing the savoury elements.

Fragrant - rose, tar, raspberry and cherry. The fragrant nature of the wine is also prevalent in the mouth, with layered, attractive fruit and fantastic structure that gives it potential for the future.

Corked.

Second bottle not corked, but not very appealing. Licorice and graphite and some spice on the nose along with a nutty rancio note that carries onto the palate. Finishes short.

Layered nose with roses, earth, spice and licorice. Very appealing on the palate, though it has complexity behind it as well. Intense and the flavour builds on the palate. Really very good at this level.

Spice, earthy, anise, some truffle and cherry - plenty going on aromatically! Especially fine tannins with excellent length.
