2012 Viñedos de Nieva Verdejo Rueda Blanco Nieva Pie Franco Spain, Castilla y León, Rueda

Light color. Herbal and green nose, a bit creamy from the oak. Relatively full-bodied, fresh, good acidity. Some spices in the finish. Good lenght.

The style reminded me of Cloudy Bay.
2010 Dominio do Bibei Ribeira Sacra Lapola Spain, Galicia, Ribeira Sacra
87 points
Flaxen color. The nose is a bit shy, with some tropical fruit, oak and spices. Quite full-bodied, intense on the palate, Some herbs. Good lenght, but a bit unbalanced according to me. Others were more positive.
2011 Orto Vins Blanc d'Orto Spain, Catalunya, Tarragona, Montsant
88 points
Light golden. Burnt sugar and orange on the nose. Slightly oxidized aroma. Full-bodied, nutty and sherry/flor-like style. Good lenght.
Interesting Jura-style.
2011 Abadia Retuerta Blanco de Guarda Le Domaine Spain, Castilla y León, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León
91 points
Light golden. Sweet oak, butter and sitrus on the nose. Reminds me of a white burgundy. Full-bodied, quite herbal and intense on the palate. Impressive wine.
2011 Ossian Vinas Viejas Blanco Spain, Castilla y León, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León
85 points
Flaxen color. Raw root vegetables, herbs, butter and popcorn on the nose. Full-bodied. Lots of oak/wood on the palate. In my opinion it appears quite unbalanced now. Maybe more integrated in some years?
2011 Benjamin Romeo Rioja Predicador Blanco Spain, La Rioja, Rioja
87 points
Flaxen color. Butter, oak and herbs on the nose. Full-bodied. Also herbs and oak on the palate. Relatively fresh style, high alcohol but well integrated. Not very complex though.
1998 R. López de Heredia Rioja Blanco Reserva Viña Tondonia Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja
89 points
Golden color. Marzipan, butter and oxidized apple on the nose. Very high acidity, sharp. Sherry-like aftertaste.
I really like this wine, but rate the 96-vintage even higher.
