Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2002 Torres Cabernet Sauvignon (Black Label) Mas La Plana Spain, Catalunya, Penedès
92 points
Surprisingly good for a 2002, this was the most elegant wine of the trio. Medium garnet color. Etheral nose of cedar, mint, green scents like capsicum and mostly red fruits. Medium-bodied, very soft with medium fruit concentration and a medium-long aftertaste. Ready to drink.

2003 Torres Cabernet Sauvignon (Black Label) Mas La Plana Spain, Catalunya, Penedès
90 points
The 2003 reflects the heat of the vintage. The fruit is ripe bordering to overripe and the nose is dominated by jammy aromas of cherry and sour cherry jam, smoke and sweet spices. Medium to full bodied, medium to high fruit concentration, velvety texture, good balance and length. Drink now.

2004 Torres Cabernet Sauvignon (Black Label) Mas La Plana Spain, Catalunya, Penedès
93 points
The 2004 is by far the most youthful wine. Color is dark garnet with ruby hues and the nose is tighter than the rest and continuously evolving. Some lactic nose initially, coffee, chocolate, hints of cedar and dark berry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, firm tannins of excellent quality, bright and rich fruit, perfect balance and length. Just entering its drinking plateau but will be better after some years (3 to 5) of cellaring.
