Flight 1 (1 note)

White - Sparkling
1996 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut France, Champagne
95 points
Focused and mineral nose of intense citrus and green apples. On the palate amazingly rich fruit with brilliant acidity that carried the wine with tremendous complexity and excellent length — youthful with huge potential.

Flight 2 (1 note)

White
1977 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
92 points
Advanced nose of aged white fruit and mushroom. The palate was expansive with great complexity and structure. Full of very mature notes and some acidity lurking beneath – amazing.

Flight 3 (1 note)

White
1999 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Bouchères France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
93 points
Rich exotic fruit and a twist of orange peel. A perfect balance between the fruit and integrated acidity with wonderful tension and length – spectacular now.

Flight 4 (1 note)

White
1999 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
94 points
Seemed overwhelmed by the 1999 Bouchères at first. However, with time, the BBM kept gaining and unfurling into a longer and more intense experience – impressive.

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
1967 Gaja Barbaresco Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco
93 points
The 1967 Gaja from magnum was in style light, elegant and refined. Very tasty with mature ripe fruit, liquorice and plums – ready and absolutely delicious.

Flight 6 (1 note)

Red
2010 Maison Ilan Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
95 points
Wow complex flavors and aromas of red and black cherries, plum, spice and earth. On the palate perfectly focused and balanced with stunning grip on the very pure and intense finish - what a gorgeous wine this is.

I really love this 2012 Chaumes and the primary mix of cherries, red plums and rounded tannins, very transparent and tasty - superb juice.

Flight 8 (1 note)

Red
2003 Château Montrose France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
93 points
A wine with smooth tannin, great fruit concentration, black tea and earth. A wine of power, concentration and enormous texture as well as longevity – this was deep and big.

Flight 9 (1 note)

Red
1945 Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
flawed
On the nose a bit of dirt from the forest floor and more Madeira notes. On the palate brick and - interesting in a perverse way.

Flight 10 (1 note)

White
2006 Domaine Patrick Javillier Corton-Charlemagne France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
92 points
Buttery minerals, utterly flamboyant, with white and yellow fruit and vanilla-laced toast - very forward and tasty.
