Red
2011 Shea Wine Cellars Pinot Noir Estate Shea Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
88 points
Tasting, brief note. Sweet red cherry and strawberry on nose and palate with some dried herb character. Moderate length. At a good place now.
Red
2011 Shea Wine Cellars Pinot Noir Block 23 Shea Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton
87 points
Tasting, brief note. Appealing floral start. Leaner red fruit, with perhaps a little more structure for that level of fruit. Best in the next couple of years.
Red
2011 Shea Wine Cellars Pinot Noir Block 7 Shea Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
88 points
Tasting, brief note. I believe this is the block of Wädenswil clone that used to go to Sine Qua Non. Forward and lush start with modest depth or length. Some earthy elements starting to emerge nicely.
Red
2011 Shea Wine Cellars Pinot Noir Homer Shea Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
90 points
Tasting, brief note. My favorite of today's Shea 2011 lineup. Red and lack cherry, forward, slightly simple, but well balanced with everything else here. Perhaps better in another year, but then probably to drink in the following few years.
Red
2012 Bergström Pinot Noir Cumberland Reserve USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
89 points
Tasting, brief note. Good spice and red berry throughout with enough acidity for balance and some helpful lift. Good now.
Red
2013 Bergström Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton
87 points
Tasting, brief note. Also leaner styled red berry aromas and flavors with some dried herbs in the background. Good balance, best young.
Red
2012 Bergström Pinot Noir Silice USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains
91 points
Tasting, brief note. Probably my favorite of the tasting, this displays forward black and red berry with good spice everywhere. Structure and textures are good and elegant. This was formerly the Lancellotti vineyard.
Red
2011 Bergström Pinot Noir Bergström Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
Tasting, brief note. while there clearly was very good fruit, this came across as slightly reductive today, making it challenging to assess in a tasting context. I would definitely decant.
Red
2002 Bergström Pinot Noir USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
89 points
Tasting, brief note. I really liked this wine at release and was very pleased to see how well it has held up. As much red fruit as earth, good background spice and balance. Very enjoyable.
